Principal's Message

Welcome to Holdeman Elementary!

My name is Dr. Jeff Shores. I'm proud to be your principal. Originally from Virginia, I moved to Arizona in 2000 to work at Arizona State University and complete my master’s degree. After graduating in 2002, I taught in the Washington Elementary School District and Queen Creek Unified School District. After earning my doctoral degree at ASU, I worked as the Dean of Students at Queen Creek Middle School before being named principal of  Spracale Elementary in 2012. After seven years at Spracale, I started the next chapter of my career at Holdeman Elementary.

I encourage you to meet your child’s teacher and begin to develop a relationship. Your teacher will work to develop a relationship with your student and will work to communicate with parents and family members through your phone or another device.  Electronic, regular communication is the best way to ensure that your student is having healthy experiences at Holdeman; both academically and behaviorally. This is also an excellent way to contact your teacher throughout the year to understand where your child may need help. Ask the teacher for resources or ideas to do at home. I would also encourage parents to get involved in your student’s education by participating in the PTA or volunteering in the classroom. The level of emphasis and concern you place on your child’s education will result in the level of education your child attains.  

We at Holdeman Elementary are excited about the school year and look forward to an environment of academic excellence and a wealth of learning. We believe in the power of education and its endless limits. Our teachers will continue to do what they do best and Holdeman Elementary will thrive.
